Working at Out N About is about more than getting behind the wheel. Our drivers play an important role in helping people with disabilities safely and comfortably reach their destinations. Every day can be different, and our drivers have the opportunity to meet and connect with clients from many different backgrounds.
What We Look for in Our Drivers
We are looking for dependable and responsible people who take pride in helping others. Drivers should be able to manage their time well, arrive promptly for scheduled pickups, communicate professionally, and adapt when transportation needs or schedules change.
Applicants must have a good driving record, be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening, and meet all company driving requirements. Reliability is especially important because our clients depend on us to get them where they need to be on time.
What Your Day May Look Like
As a driver, your daily responsibilities may include picking up clients from their homes, hospitals, medical facilities, or other locations and safely transporting them to their destination. Drivers may assist clients with entering and exiting our vehicles, including properly securing wheelchairs when needed. Trips can range from local transportation to longer-distance travel, so no two days are exactly the same.
Because much of our transportation is based around appointments and individual client needs, schedules can vary from day to day. Being flexible with your hours and prepared for changes is an important part of working with Out N About.
Connecting With Our Clients
One of the most important parts of this job is how you treat the people you transport. We want our clients to feel safe, comfortable, and respected from the moment they are picked up until they reach their destination.
Being friendly, patient, respectful, and able to communicate with people from different backgrounds is important. Many of our drivers get to know the clients they transport, so building trust and creating a positive experience is a big part of what we do.
